Shot the lovely Mia (@miablakeman) last week in Barnsdell Park. This babe just moved to LA from her home country of Puerto Rico and is killing it in the modeling world. We caught some amazing morning light as the sun rose over the hills. Check out what we snapped below :)
Recently decided to join a co-working space in Downtown Los Angeles and have been on the hunt for the best shoot locations! I've mostly been shooting in the little nature pockets around LA, so this is a total new terrain for me. My favorite little babe @officiallyquilgey showed me this parking structure with an epic skyline view! Check out the goodness below:
If you live in Los Angeles you have likely driven past this gorgeous colorful staircase in silverlake. I had been for years, but never stepped foot on it! After some Instagram creeping I figured it would be an awesome spot for a Dazey shoot, and it did not disappoint! As you've probably noticed I am all about COLOR. Below are the images I captured with lovely models @chelciemay & @jordandrich!
HA the title kinda says it all. For the past 4 years I've lived directly under the best shoot location and haven't been able to use it! Torturous I know. I've seen others attempt, but a huge alarm sounds and a dramatic scene unfolds with a very angry landlord. They had been working on the elevator the past few weeks and accessing the roof, so I assumed the alarm was off and it was open. We attempt to sneak up and then the alarm sounds, nooooo!!! We ran and hid, I know hahah. My landlord runs to the scene looking for the perp and seemed confused, I felt bad and walked out and told him it was us. Then I plead with him to shoot there LOL. It probably had to do with the two adorable models fully dressed but he actually said YES! I've asked many many times before so this was basically a christmas miracle. Anyways sorry for the rant! Without further adieu here the photos are!
We're back at it! Again bear with us as we figure out what on earth we are doing haha, still filming on an iphone and realize theres a weird background noise lol :)
Episode 2 is all about how to design your dream job. We go over things like how you can combine ALL your passions to create a SUPER JOB! We go over what skills and expertise you might have to lend your business. And finally how you can delegate and trade the not so favorite parts! Theres are all things to consider when creating your dream job checklist. Positive or gentle constructive feedback welcome. Hope you enjoy!
Last month bloggers @sarawaiste and @eliza_moore were visiting from England and we got the chance to do a little shoot in the hollywood hills near my house. These girls have mad style and put together all the looks themselves :) Aside from blogging they own a rad vintage store called Waiste Vintage. Hell yes fellow boss babes! You can check it out here: http://www.waiste.co.uk/
Very excited to do a little collab with this blogger babe & jewelry designer. I met Jamie right when I started dabbling with photography and she was so kind to let me test on her haha :) She was also the first to model Dazey when I launched! Aside from blogging she runs a successful jewelry brand called Jay Nicole Jewelry. We wanted to do a little collab photoshoot and Jamie even designed a few pieces to match the stars seen throughout the Dazey fall collection. Nothings better than a great graphic tee and necklace combo! Check them out below. Matching Jewlery can be found on jamie's site http://jaynicole.bigcartel.com/
When I started Dazey LA all I really wanted was to FINALLY have full creative freedom on a project I could call my own. I was not expecting it to create a community of like-minded creative ladies who share this same passions! Weather it's fellow girl bosses I've met along the way or aspiring ones who have been following my adventures. Connecting with, supporting, and inspiring people has been the cherry on top of this creative journey. I had no idea I would have such a passion for it :)
I wanted to go a little more in-depth than the 10-second Instagram stories so I decided to start a Dazey LA youtube channel! I teamed up with my friend Rachel of process/progress to do a little series on the inner thoughts and workings of starting a small business. We literally just filmed on my iphone in my living room with no planning and all in one take, so bear with us. I asked you guys what you wanted to see on the new Dazey channel and "how did you take the leap?" was the top runner by far. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to subscribe. I will also be doing design & photography tutorials, fashion videos, interviews, and more!
I recently met up with Cara (@cararuetz) in Griffith park by my house. I shoot here a lot, but I wanted the terrain to look a bit more lush for fall/winter. We went hunting and found the coolest little corners that could totally double as a northern California forrest. Check out the magic below:
