When Amari's agency contacted us about doing some test shoots I was immediately drawn to her adorable freckles and amazing hair! As a photographer shooting unique beauties is always a treat.

Amari shared with me her reason to get into modeling was to prove she doesn't have to fit into a mold to make it. I admire her drive and mission so much. I love that our society seems to finally be starting to appreciate all types of women, not just the stereotypical thin blonde models- who are also beautiful, my point being everyone is! This is a subject I broach carefully because I know it's a sensitive one, especially in today's politically charged climate. I have received a few messages saying we need to be better at representing diversity, and I totally agree and want Dazey to be a representation of all of us! I have also had messages about expanding our size range, and we are very excited to announce our next line will include additional sizes!

Dazey wants to be at the forefront of celebrating all women. We want to be very intentional and transparent about this, which is why I'm bringing it up. Clearly Amari is no far reach because she is in every way conventionally gorgeous. This should be the norm, and we're here to normalize it. At Dazey we want to promote and embrace women of all body types and skin color. Moving forward we will strive to be more diverse in our photoshoots so we can accurately represent the beautiful world we live in and the women in it!

I met Nikia (aka @madmavenstyle) soon after starting Dazey and she has become a close friend and constant collaborator! Nikia is a well known LA fashion blogger and she has style for days! We shoot for Dazey a lot and I love the way she styles the tees in eclectic ways you would never expect! That's what really makes Mad Maven Style blog unique and a great source for inspiration.

On top of blogging, Nikia recently started making these ADORABLE pom-pom ball earrings that go amaze-balls with Dazey (oh yes, pun-intended). I figured it was long overdue to feature this inspirational Dazey Lady and good friend :) Creep below as Nikia make's pom-poms and talks blogging in our feature video. 

And of course in typical Dazey-fashion, we accompany our video along with an epic themed photoshoot! The inspiration for this shoot hit me as I was walking by my house in Hollywood. I noticed the funkiest old apartments that have a very 60s/70s Miami vibe and thought I'd change things up from my usual nature or downtown city photos. I immediately texted Nikia because I knew she would be the perfect model and stylist for the job! I loved the colorful clothing mixed with the bright walls and worn down textures of the buildings. This may just be one of my favorite shoots to date! So expect more of this funky vintage vibes coming your way ;)

 Coachella is a music festival, but the fashion has become almost just as important! People dress to the nines showing off some of the most wild outfits imaginable. Eye sparkles and cliche flower crowns are the norm. There's a ton of satire videos poking fun at it online, but it's honestly amazing and set's a standard for fashion all summer long. People watching is my favorite way to get design inspiration!

I recently started a silly challenge for myself I like to call the "Dazey Everyday Challenge". So of course I had to carry it into Coachella! I love pushing the boundaries on how people can style their graphic tees. They can so easily be dressed up and made into a complete and killer look! I often wear Dazey on top of dresses, under overalls, or paired with turtlenecks. For Coachella, the heat can be a challenge on the layering front, but I wouldn't let that stop me! I chose to use statement accessories like hats, fun shoes, jewelry, and of course my favorite- the sparkles! I just wish I could wear them everyday :) Hope this gives you a little bit of inspo on how to style your tee to a T!

Festival season has arrived! I'm sure your feeds have been clogged with all the Coachella Madness, we're just here to add a little more ;) 

This past weekend I grabbed some of my favorite Dazey Ladies and we headed out to Coachella weekend one. Our boyfriends tagged along too and we all stayed together in my family's little condo, it was a full house for sure! Going with a good group is key to having the best time. These gals are so much fun and helped me shoot some amazing content for Dazey. Thanks so much @aldensteimle, @sarahloven, and @officiallyquigley! Also, major shout out to Sarah's Instagram Husband (hehe) Josh who is amazing and shot the group pics and this adorable little video :) 

I've been going to the festival since I was young and the last few years I've been going out just for the events and skipping the festival itself, too crazy to do both (and cheaper LOL). Coachella has become so much more than the music festival, the whole desert becomes alive and there is so much going on. Brands have huge events and it's a great opportunity to network and have some fun!

On Thursday night I had the opportunity to meet some boss babes who I hugely admire, Mandy Fry the owner of Amuse Society, and Dayna Mance owner of Prism Boutique. They had a collaborative dinner and pop up that was awesome. Friday we went to the Chiara Ferragni x Revolve event and then the Foray Collective party. Saturday was a lovely oasis hosted by The Zoe Report, complete with massages, hair & makeup stations, and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Sunday we attended the Revolve event where we finally let loose dancing and swimming. Such a good ending to the weekend.

Nikki Joiner is back!!! This gorgeous creature was one of my first Dazey Lady Features. She’s an amazing little artist who occasionally models as well. She was also featured in my Big Video sharing her struggles of pursuing artwork while working two side jobs. Dazey is all about helping young talented creatives like Nikki pursue what they are passionate about!

For this shoot we teamed up with my girl Kailee of Im With the Band Headbands and shot with Nikki in the Hollywood Hills. So fun getting a group of talented girls together to do a collaborative photoshoot!

When Dazey launched almost a year ago we started with a few posters along with the tees. We shifted our focus fully onto the tees and decided to take the posters off the site. Well, after many requests they are BACK and better than ever! Printed right in our office with a super high quality printer onto thick card stock paper. They have slight variations that make them unique and an almost screen printed look. 

Just as with our tees, our posters are designed to empower women on a daily basis with inspiring words and rad designs! We are proud to have a female artist owned company and each print is signed by Dani Dazey herself! Hand drawn with love in LA, we snapped some photos in Dani's home featuring her and the artwork.

Nothing says California more than a colorfully dressed babe & some palm trees! This vibrant and vintage inspired collection goes so well with that sun drenched west coast vibe. We had the perfect backdrop to match. Shot on the roof of my hollywood apartment where you can see palm trees for miles!

This is Natalie Zucchero, a Seattle based model. She was in town visiting but has plans to make California her full time home :) I found her by doing a model shout out on social media, oh how I love ya Instagram!

Last week one of my best childhood friends Brook was visiting me in LA. There were some amazing bougainvillea walls by my apartment I had been dying to shoot so I made her play model and photographer with me :) She's a full time RN and doesn't spend a lot of time in front or behind the camera but she killed it!

Was planning on just getting a few content images for Instagram but the flowers were just too epic not to post the high res images on here. Oh how I love spring!

This collection is very near and dear to me. It is inspired by the Women's March that took place on January 21st. It was a crazy day for me, I woke up early to march and by that afternoon gave a speech in front of 1,500 people. It was easily the most empowering day of my life, and that does something to you. I woke up that next day feeling so inspired I had to do something about it, so I designed this collection!

The march was a surreal experience. Seeing so many people of all ages and races, both men and women, out to support women's rights was incredible. There were little girls with feminist signs being held up by their dads, old ladies in wheel chairs wearing "pussy hats," and an endless sea of Dazey Ladies. It was madness and it was perfect. Marching alongside each other in solidarity we knew we were not alone, and together we were a force to be reckoned with. Many of the designs in this collection were inspired by the signs I saw walking, I loved reading them and snapping photos. :)

We headed to Malibu on a gorgeous day to shoot the lookbook. I had one of my best friends, Quigley, modeling, my new camera in hand, and the super bloom was at it's peak. Photoshoot perfection! It captures the colorful California Dazey Vibe perfectly. Hope you enjoy it! You can SHOP HERE

I am originally from Illinois and moved out to California with my childhood sweetheart of a husband. I was modeling in Illinois for a short time and continued to model once moving to California from time to time. After years of experiencing my own struggle with an autoimmune disease, my husband and I started our business drinkbar juicery. I discovered several years prior to our business juicing was my saving grace and my husband wanted me to have a way to share that experience with others who were also hurting.

1) What inspires you and get’s you excited!?

Health and feeling vibrant. The idea that there is so many people out there not feeling incredible and I can show them how. That gets me excited.

2) Where would you want to be five years from now personally and professionally?

 In 5 years from now I want to have my own ranch and potentially 2 babies. I want to live off the land, with as many fruit trees as I can fit into one small space. I want to have several recipes books on the market and show so many more people how much better they can feel. 

3) What does being a Dazey Lady (my term for self employed babes kicking ass) mean to you?

It means authenticity, It means WHOLE. Most self employed women make sacrifices to birth things that are deep inside them. They sacrifice "things" to create something that is not yet tangible. They don't buy purses and expensive hair care but they invest in ideas deep inside them and make them reality. A dazey lady pulls on that inner strength to create a path not yet paved, and is glamours while doing it.
